Biology teachers awarded graduate degrees

A special group of graduates celebrated their accomplishments during WUSTL’s Commencement May 16. Twelve biology teachers from across the country completed master degrees through the Master of Science in Biology for Science Teachers program. Together with their families, they enjoyed three days of Commencement festivities and also a reception at a favorite hang out, Blueberry Hill in the Loop.

Coordinated by the Institute for School Partnership, this two-year hybrid program combines deepening of life science content knowledge with progressive pedagogy and leadership projects. Teachers take courses in residence during the summer and through distance learning methods during the academic year. Twenty teachers will be a part of the program this summer, taking three one-week courses at WUSTL.
