Featured Speaker: Katie Westby, Ph.D., MSPH, Postdoctoral Research Associate, Tyson Research Center, Washington University in St. Louis
We are now living in an epoch where humans are the predominant factor affecting our environment and climate. Besides being a nuisance and important spreaders of disease, mosquitoes have a fascinating ecology and are subject to all the same community level interactions and selection pressures of other, more beloved, species. Tyson Research Center biologist, Katie Westby, presents an overview of how human-driven changes influence mosquito-borne disease and shares some of the work in the Saint Louis region examining how invasive species, climate, and urbanization are affecting mosquito communities.

FREE and OPEN to ALL. Middle and high school students welcome and encouraged to attend. Space is limited. Registration required.
