Grow your science instructional practice this summer!
ISP curriculum coordinator Melanie Turnage and ISP teaching facilitator Lauren Church will host mySci K-8 Grade Banded Professional Development sessions with an estimated 50 teachers from many districts in the region. The goal of these one-day sessions is for teachers to gain confidence using mySci, get an overview of all mySci units or modules at their grade band, collaborate with others to discuss teaching strategies/best practices in science education and model design challenges.

  • Lauren Church will host the session for 6-8 teachers at the mySci Resource Center, 6601 Vernon Avenue, University City.
  • Melanie Turnage will host K-5 teachers at Lopaka House Multi-Purpose Room on Washington University’s Danforth Campus, with assistance from STEMpact facilitator Barbara Pener. Dr. Michael Wysession, professor of earth and planetary sciences in Arts & Sciences at Washington University will speak for about an hour in the morning.

Teachers will have time to plan for the upcoming school year with similar grade-level teachers in the region. Lunch will be provided.
