Rebuilding a Wilderness: From War to Recovery in Mozambique’s Gorongosa National Park

No dates for this event

Featured Speaker: Robert M. Pringle, Associate Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Princeton University; Board of Directors, The Gorongosa Project. Dr. Pringle, an expert on the biology of African savannas, works on finding science-based solutions for conserving large mammals and healthy ecosystems in a human-dominated world.
Once one of Africa’s most spectacular nature preserves, Mozambique’s Gorongosa National Park was stripped of its wildlife by decades of war and rural poverty. Since 2007, the Gorongosa Project has sought to revitalize and expand the park, advance social justice, and solidify the linkages between environmental and human well-being.
Adults, teachers, middle and high school students, and the general public are invited to attend. Parking is free in the Zoo North lot or on the street in Forest Park
