Part of the mySci “Going Deeper” PD series designed to support experienced mySci teachers and administrators, this series is anchored in practices that are empirically linked to more equitable and meaningful student learning experiences. By the end of this professional learning series, educators will:
- Explore the cultural dimensions of science learning – how students learn science in relation to their interests, identities, and communities.
- Develop classroom norms that guide productive and equitable student participation in the Science and Engineering Practices (SEPs)
- Experience instructional and assessment strategies that recognize multiple ways students make sense of science phenomena (e.g., drawing, writing, everyday talk, using native languages, perspective-taking).
