Dr. Wrangham, a primate behavioral ecologist, has studied wild chimpanzees in Kibale National Park, Uganda, since 1987. He is the recipient of a 1987 MacArthur Foundation fellowship and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the British Academy.
