mySci Summer Professional Development (District Leaders)

  • July 24, 2019 • 8:30 AM – 3 PM
  • Washington University, Danforth Campus, Lopata House

ISP associate director Rachel Ruggirello and ISP curriculum coordinator Jeanne Norris will host this two-day leadership institute.

Educators will gain skills and confidence to not only implement mySci with their students, but also to support other teachers in their building and district as a mySci Leader by facilitating mySci PD within their district for their grade level. Opportunity to practice PD facilitation and a deep-dive into NGSS and mySci philosophy will be included.

mySci District Leaders will have follow-up mentorship with a mySci representative to aid in their district PD leadership, and and will submit a classroom video as a model lesson for other teachers in the region. We will have an end of year symposium celebration to share the work being done across the region.

Leaders receive a t-shirt, certificate, and stipend for participation. We recommend that teachers have used mySci for at least one year before participating as a mySci District Leader.

Quarterly follow-ups throughout the school year, and end of year event
Stipend: $100 (opportunity to earn up to $100 through follow up work)
Lunch will be provided. Participation will vary depending on district size.

Contact your district or school science coordinator if you are interested in this opportunity.
