Public talk by science journalist Rachel Nuwer, author of Poached: Inside the Dark World of Wildlife Trafficking, will give a public talk on Thursday, June 27, at 4 PM as part of the Tyson Summer Seminar Series.
Nuwer is an award-winning freelance journalist published in New York Times, Scientific American, BBC, National Geographic, and more. After nearly six years of investigating the underworld of illegal wildlife trafficking, Nuwer has published her first book, Poached: Inside the Dark World of Wildlife Trafficking, to widespread acclaim. Her work spans four continents and 12 countries to encompass the vast network of participants in the trade. Her talk will explore Nuwer’s writing process as well as the myriad of connections between ecology, politics, ethics, and global economics.
