Melanie Turnage

Instructional Specialist

Melanie is an instructional specialist with the Institute for School Partnership . She brings 14 years of experience as a public school upper elementary classroom teacher including one year on a departmentalized team as the science and social studies lead.

Melanie joined the ISP team in 2016 and works primarily with the mySci program. She writes and edits K-5 mySci curriculum, and facilitates professional development around many topics including effective science practices and Novel Engineering.

Melanie is a graduate of the University of Missouri-St. Louis and University of Missouri – Columbia earning degrees in Elementary Education and master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis on Mental Health Practices in Schools. Her time outside of work with the ISP includes spending time with her teenage son and partner, supporting local coffeehouses, bookstores and libraries.
