Research & Evaluation

K-12 education is a dynamic field with current research informing best practices in the classroom. There is national attention on how teachers and schools are working to educate children. The Institute for School Partnership is exploring how Washington University in St. Louis can contribute knowledge to this field while working in the communities that border its campuses.

As ISP works with schools, it gathers and evaluates data about what evidence-based practices are most effective. Study is focused on how student achievement may be influenced by community and family involvement in schools, enhanced teacher quality through effective professional development and assistance with school leadership. This data is being used to formulate a community school reform model that will showcase ISP’s academic work and inform the field of urban education.

The WUSTL partners in this research are Arts & Sciences, Brown School and Olin Business School.
