Maia Elkana joined the Institute for School Partnership (ISP) in 2019 as the Evaluation Director focusing on connecting ISP’s broad portfolio of programs and services to measurable improvement in STEM education for the St. Louis region.
Maia is a passionate advocate for families, students and teachers, and brings a pragmatic systems level approach to continuous quality improvement projects aimed at increasing equitable access to and implementation of high-quality STEM education for students and their teachers.
Prior to joining the ISP, Maia managed state and organizational level evaluation for one of the nation’s largest evidence-based early childhood curriculum and home visitation models. She holds a BA in anthropology and a master’s in social work, both from Washington University in St. Louis. Maia earned a masters in economics from the University of Missouri in St. Louis in 2020, and hopes to set a good example of lifelong learning for her two daughters.
